Hola from sevilla! This city is sooo beautiful and there seem to be a million places that I want to stop and look inside already. We live with “Mama Vicki” who says there are “No rules, we are family.” So she is pretty laid back…she loves to sew and already showed us her tiger print fabric which she says is “Very sexy, no?” She is divorced, has 2 sons married and living elsewhere and she also has Vicki (jr.?) and Alfonso who live here with us. Vicki is 19 and Alfonso is 17. Vicki is a sweetheart—and we walked in on Alfonso making a whey proten shake. I asked him if he loved the gym. I think he is trying to get muscles for us. My money is on him and Katrina by the end of the trip. Juuust kidding.
Our room is probably smaller than our dorms at Jones. We have a Mickey Mouse wallpaper boarder across our room, a Lord of the Rings map poster, a bulletin board which we spiced up with some pics from home. There’s also an angel/bart simpson collage above Laura’s bed (nice juxtaposition I suppose?). Above mine is a sign that says Alfonso and a HUGE pink stuffed heart that says “I love you.” (either Alfonso is a little odd, or they were trying to make our room more girlish-kind of confusing). We have been brainstorming excuses to take it down and where to put it in the most nonchalant way. So far I’m thinking of saying it scared me in the middle of the night and I accidentally threw it out the window. Out of our window we have a little terrace balcony thing which is pretty nice.
Sidenote: Laura is currently wearing jeans, a shirt, a sweatshirt, a scarf, gloves and is under her covers. Our room is about 20 degrees colder than outside. She is also munching on a piece of stale bread we saved from dinner.
Other sidenote: Haley literally had her her Chi O white skirt from rush packed. Unreal. That skirt is not only ok in America, but should be banned from every country in the world. Thank you Nicole, for sparing the Spaniards.
Random facts:
• Today we climbed 36 ramps to the top of a bell tower in La Catedral de Sevilla, the largest gothic cathedral in the world. My calves were burnin.
• We saw beautiful gardens, fish, lizards and peacocks at the Real Alcazar where the royal Spaniards lived.
• We ate lentils and bread, and saw evidence that 8 out of the 25 chocolates I gave her have been eaten. She said she only had 2…which leaves Alfonso probably needing to hit the gym soon.
• We just found out that our sister Vicki also has hair extensions, like Katrina. Totallyyy meant to be. Also we just introduced her to PhotoBooth on Macs. She is having the time of her life.
