Yesterday I started my intercambio class, which I think will be the one I learn the most from here. It is a class with six students and one teacher and we just talk about different topics in Spanish the whole time. 50% of the grade is just for showing up and participating and the other 50% is for 4 reflexive essays. It is really laid back, but she corrects us when we say something grammatically wrong and it is so so helpful. I kept hearing new things or ones I forgot and writing them down. I learned what the creepy old men in the street who shout at us are called-- “viejos verdes.” Verde means green but can also used to mean dirty in the sense of dirty old man. And let me say, there are many of these in the streets who are seriously lacking a filter.
We really bonded with the Vicki last night . We told her we weren’t sure about keeping our flamenco class and she said she would teach us at home instead. She gave us a mini-lesson in the dining room and then surprised us later by coming in our room and giving us a full-on lesson on how to use our arms. "Pick the flower, smell it, and throw it away" is how we are supposed to remember our arm circles.
Random facts:
Vicki wears moon shoes. They are quite amusing. I told her I loved them and that they looked really comfortable.

We got Internet for our room today! It is going to help cut down costs at Internet cafes and now we can enjoy more sunshine outside instead of staying at school longer.
I bought a lollipop on the street today and was disappointed when it was cola flavored. Katrina ate it.
Tonight we ate the weirdest combination of food I have ever had. I don't even know how she thought to place these foods together. Broccoli and asparagus with an egg in it. It was like a fried egg but really well done. I'm not going to lie, I ate the whole thing and I think it is because I kind of have a cold and couldn't really taste. Vicki knows Laura is the pickiest one and so she called her in the kitchen in advance to take a peek (Vicki is verrrry proud of her cooking masterpieces and always tells us how good of a cook she is-she makes the "best" everything) and Laura almost threw up when she saw it. Needless to say, after we had all eaten ours, Laura distributed the rest of hers onto our plates and resorted to her peanut butter stash, which is pretty much gone.
